Bald eagles are prolific in Alma, Wisconsin and you can view them all year.  During the winter the Canadian bald eagles migrate down the Mississippi River to spots of open water.  In Alma this is below Lock & Dam #4.  Throughout winter you'll find great eagle viewing opportunities with hundreds of bald eagles sitting in trees and fishing in open water.

For over 40 years artists have been filling the lovely Stockholm Village Park overlooking Lake Pepin on the third Saturday each July. The charming little village of Stockholm will once again host one of the best art fairs around—over 100 artists with exceptional art including paintings, jewelry, clay, glass, sculpture, fiber, wood, leather, photography and more. Food vendors entice you with many locally made and unusual offerings such as wood fired pizza, portabella mushroom sandwiches, locally roasted coffee and a variety of food choices!  Talented regional musicians perform onstage throughout the day, and there are activities for children as well.

This is the start of the harvest season for the vineyard, and like many local wineries, they hold the grape-stomping event to commemorate fall's arrival.  "Its the celebration of the end of one season, and the beginning of the harvest," Danzinger said. "We want to get new people out here to have fun and experience our vineyard."

Take a day from your Labor Day weekend and come to Alma, Wisconsin for annual Alma Music & Arts Festival.   One of the favorite summer events on the Upper Mississippi River!

 

The festival is set on the banks of the Mississippi River in Alma, Wisconsin and there isn’t a better way to end your summer.  Held Sunday of Labor Day weekend at the Alma Beach & Marina on the tree-lined shore of the great Mississippi River in Alma, Wisconsin; you can come by car or by boat.  

 

This is a fun family event featuring live music all afternoon, storytelling by Kenny Salwey, and fine arts & crafts from local & regional artists.  Many children’s activities are offered including games & pony rides.  Local community organizations offer great food at their booths with a wide variety and affordable options.
