THE BLUE DOOR INN
THE BLUE DOOR INN is our flagship property at 331 S Main Street.  Built between 1853 and 1875 by the Tritsch Brothers, it houses a 2 1/2 story stone house, an 1857 blacksmith shop but no longer operate as a Bed & Breakfast due to COVID19.  

Four suites are available as well as a 1 bedroom apartment.  Great Mississippi River views, gardens, patio & 60' porches.

Suite 1 & 2 are double beds on the 1st floor.
Suites 3 & 4 offer queen beds on the 2nd floor.  Suite 3 also has a queen sleeper.
Upper Apartment has a queen bed & queen sleeper.
Want stone walls?  The Upper Apartment (The Inn) is the oldest part of the Inn.  The common area of the former BREAKFAST ROOM is also made of stone and was the Tritsch Brothers' Blacksmith Shop.

Looking for an affordable stay but don't mind a small room?  Suite 2 (The Inn) is best.

Need sleeping accommodations for 4 in a single room?  Suite 3 (The Inn),  Upper Apartment (The Inn) and The Lower Cottage Apartment (The Cottage) each offer a memory foam sofa sleeper.

Have a mid-size group?  Combining the Upper Apartment, Suite 3 & Suite 4 offers 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2 sofa sleepers.  A small kitchen, a game room and a small living room are also provided.  

Looking for a gathering place for a large group?  The entire Blue Door Inn can accommodate up to 14 people.

Sleeping on the floor or on furniture is not allowed under Wisconsin state law or by the Blue Door Inn.  All guests are required to sleep in an approved bed or sofa-sleeper.


From time to time we may ask a guest to accept an upgraded room to accommodate other guests.  This request will be at the discretion of management.  Any upgrade is offered at no additional cost to accommodate:
  • guests with disabilities unable to stay on the 2nd floor
  • connection of children's rooms to their adult parents/guardians
  • late arrivals or early departures
Our 2018 Spring Gardens are planted and starting to bloom.
