RESERVATION POLICIES

PAYMENT, DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION

 

PAYMENT OPTIONS 

Accepted payments for your stay are by Credit Card (American Express, Discover, Visa or MasterCard). Deposits are by credit card only at the time of reservation.  If you "walk in" and we have a room available, accepted payments are Cash, Check or Credit Card.  


DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION

As small  lodging propriers located in a small river town, we have tried to offer our guests an easy reservation process without all of the stipulations about deposits and cancellations.  However it's proven necessary to implement a deposit and cancellation policy.  We are experiencing cancellations that do not afford us the opportunity to put the room back onto the market with adequate time to find another guest  

 

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT POLICY FOR YOUR STAY

If you reserve an Individual Room(s) or an Entire Property, a 50% Deposit is required at time of booking.  With appropriate notice (see below) your Deposit will be refunded if you cancel your room reservation.


The balance due on your reservation will be charged to your credit card on file 72 hours prior to 4pm on your expected date of arrival. No payments are due when you arrive at the Inn during check-in.  If you are splitting the room charges among members of your party you will need to do that privately.


CANCELLATION OF YOUR RESERVATION

If you cancel your reservation at least 72 hours prior to 4pm on your expected date of arrival your Deposit will be refunded.  If you cancel after that time your Deposit is not refundable and the balance of the amount due will be charged to your credit card on file.  


"NO SHOW":  If you do not show up for your reservation any deposits or lodging payments made will not be refunded.


REBOOKING:  If we can rebook all or part of your cancelled reservation, the amount paid by the new guest for your cancelled reservation will be refunded to you (minus any taxes due).


READ & AGREE

When you make your online reservation, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and agreed to the above Deposit & Cancellation Policies.  When you agree you are authorizing Blue Door Properties to charge 50% upon reservation of the total cost of your stay to your credit card on file with the balanced charged 72 hours in advance of 4pm on your arrival date. Your reservation is not confirmed until the deposit is processed for payment.  

RESERVATIONS

  • To check availability and/or make a reservation, access our Reservation System or call 608-685-9700.
  • Reservations are not completed until confirmed.
  • There are no "minimum" night stays

POLICIES Of Blue Door Properties

UPGRADES
From time to time we may ask a guest to accept an upgraded room to accommodate other guests.  This request will be at the discretion of management.  Any upgrade is offered at no additional cost to accommodate:
  • guests with disabilities unable to stay on the 2nd floor
  • connection of childrens' rooms to their adult parents/guardians
  • late arrivals or early departures

CANCELLATIONS

  • Please respect that this is a small business that is highly impacted if you cancel your reservation with short notice or do not check in.  Your prompt notification is greatly appreciated!
  • Please note that if you reserve a room at a Blue Door Property we require credit card information and if a room is cancelled within 72 hours your credit card will be charged if we are not able to find another guest. 

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT TIMES

  • Check In Time:       4pm-7pm, please make special arrangements if you will need a guaranteed late arrival
  • Check Out Time:    11am, no exceptions.  You will be charged another night's lodging for late check out.
  • Quiet Time:            10pm (unless you've rented the entire INN)

TELEVISION

  • Televisions with DVD players are available for each room.  Inn at Big River Theatre has SmartTVs in their rooms.
  • We offer a selection of DVDs for your enjoyment at no cost.  Please feel free to bring your own.
  • We do NOT offer live broadcast television or cable. 
  • Additional viewing options are available through our WiFi if you have previously subscribed to services like Amazon, Netflix or Hulu.  We provide an HDMI cable upon request or you can view on your own laptop, tablet or smartphone.

EXTRA GUESTS

  • Sleeping on the floor or on furniture is not allowed under Wisconsin state law or by the Blue Door Inn.  All guests are required to sleep in an approved bed.  
  • Rooms that offer a sofa-bed sleeper can accommodate an additional 2 guests.  The nightly charge is $25.
KITCHENS & COOKING IN ROOMS
The Breakfast Room Kitchen at the Blue Door Inn is not available for use by guests.  As a licensed bed & breakfast we must maintain this room as a space separate from guests except to serve breakfast between 8 and 10am.  

Cooking in your room is not allowed under Wisconsin state law or by Blue Door Properties unless your room has a kitchen.  Rooms that provide a kitchen  are the Upper Apartment at Blue Door Inn and River View Apartment & Eagles Nest Loft at Inn at Big River Theatre.  

Microwaves and mini fridges are available to most rooms to reheat food or to store leftovers. 

SMOKE FREE FACILITY, NO SMOKING

All properties managed by Blue Door Properties are smoke-free facilities, there are no exceptions.  In addition, Wisconsin state law does not allow smoking in a lodging property.

PETS

Properties managed by Blue Door do not offer "pet friendly" lodging due to the potential for allergic reactions by others guests.  The exception is the Cottage at Blue Door, for the 2020 Season we are experimenting with offering the Cottage Rooms as "pet friendly" and are testing this option.  There is an additional fee & deposit.

DAMAGES TO PROPERTY & CHARGES 

It's expected that Guests will treat all our historic properties with respect.  We're not sweating a broken wine glass or make-up on a washcloth.  But missing items and Guest damages to the property, bedding, linens, furniture & historic wooden floors will be charged against the Guest's credit card on file.
